“Founded in 1948” says the cornerstone. Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Yuk Chyun stands before us. This school has a rich history rooted in Selangor. It offers various programs including the Program Pendidikan Khas Integrasi PPKI.
Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Yuk Chyun’s story began long ago. In 2009, the school had 632 male students and 541 female students. This made a total of 1173 students. There were 49 teachers to guide them.

Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Yuk Chyun known as SJK (C) Yuk Chyun for short. It is a national primary school of the Chinese type. The school’s motto is Kerajinan Kegigihan Kejujuran Kesederhanaan. This translates to Diligent Determine Integrity Moderate.
SJK(C) Yuk Chai’s history began in 1939. It was first located in a temple in Setapak. The school closed from 1942 to 1945 during the Japanese invasion. After the war Chen Hua rebuilt it.
In 1954 Yuk Chai relocated because the area was given to a mining company. This was its first move. There were about 120 students then. After Malaysia’s independence in 1957 it became government-subsidized.
Another relocation happened in 1970. The government wanted to improve the city’s appearance. Yuk Chai moved to Kampung Chempaka. Due to money problems the villagers used old materials. They built six classrooms an office and a principal’s office.
In 1981 Yuk Chai moved to its current location in Taman Megah. This was its third relocation. A three-story building with 15 classrooms and a canteen was built. Student numbers grew and fundraising campaigns were launched.
From 1984 to 1988 another building was constructed. It had 18 classrooms. By then there were about 1500 students. In 1989 a new hall costing RM600000 was completed.
In 1992 a new administration block opened. It included a library an office a staff room and a resource center. By 1993 there were about 2240 students. The Ministry of Education donated funds to build another building.
In 1997 the school’s science block officially opened. In 1999 digital boards were added through the Smart School Project. By 2000 student numbers grew to about 3200. The Ministry of Education donated $1 million to build another block.
In 2001 the school computerized its systems. In 2006 Blocks B and C were extended. The administration block was upgraded. In 2011 the hall was air-conditioned. A four-floor activity hall was built. In 2012 a new basketball court was created. The school’s garden was improved.
In 2015 the school improved Block A’s roof. In 2019 the school celebrated its 80th Anniversary. They opened a carnival called Yuk Chai Fun & Learn Carnival. In 2020 they ran an online talent show. In 2023 a fundraising talent show dinner took place.
Throughout its history Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Yuk Chyun has seen many headmasters. Each one has left their mark on the school. They are Yan Jing Pei Zhong Hai Yuan and Fu Wen Ming. Also Chen Yu Xia Chen Xiu Yun and Zeng Hua Long. There were also Lu Yin Ji Qiu San He and Zhu Su Yan. Su Bai Li Lin Jie Ying and Goh Cheng Leong also served. Chew Hock Jin Soh Swee Koon and Robin Tan Tien Chye followed.
The school also recognizes key figures like Chen Hua Tan Qi and Huang Kun. Li Si Peng Bin Bin and Lu Sheng Yu have all contributed.
Notable PTA chairmen include Chen Yang Xian and Dato Tan Leong Min. Hu Guang Xiang Deng Yang Han and Chen Guo Qing also served. Liao Bao Rui Lin Jin Sheng and Song Wu Guang contributed too. Fu Dun Lian Tan Teck Kwui and Chong Fat Leong also held the position. Lin Bai Chong Fu Dun Shu Lim Jenn Shiah Thean Kon Fah Sze Toh Wu Pin and Peng Jian Long also served. Choi Kian You currently holds the position.
Sekolah Jenis Kebangsaan (C) Yuk Chyun continues to evolve. It adapts to meet the needs of its students and the community. The school’s commitment to education is unwavering.
