For wider travel Gare Cornavin is better. Cornavin is Geneva’s main station. It handles national and international trains. It also has better airport links.
Sécheron itself is relatively new. It’s large but still under construction. This accounts for its somewhat empty feel. The platform is centrally located. Train tracks surround it on both sides. A bridge connects the two entrances to the platform. The main entrance is to the south. The north entrance remains unopened. A large underground parking lot is next to the main entrance. An elevator connects the parking lot to the bridge and platform levels. The tram stop is nearby. However in 2015 the elevator to the platform was not working. The station wasn’t wheelchair accessible. This situation may have improved since then. Sécheron lacks amenities like lockers or wifi. There’s no main hall. The platform offers benches a ticket machine and departure schedules.
