“Curious about what lurks beneath the surface?” asks the ocean breeze. Welcome to Sea Life Aquarium San Antonio. Here, we’re about to plunge into an underwater world. It is teeming with life and wonder. Sea Life Aquarium San Antonio invites you to explore more than 20 exhibits. They showcase diverse marine creatures. Sharks, stingrays, and moray eels all await.
The highlight is an 80-foot glass tunnel. You can marvel at sharks and stingrays swimming overhead. It’s an immersive experience. It will transport you to the heart of the ocean.
Sea Life Aquarium San Antonio is home to a rescued green sea turtle. She was injured by a boat. She now lives in a 200,000-gallon tank with sharks and stingrays. The turtle’s shell was cracked in the accident. This caused a condition called “bubble butt syndrome.” Air gets trapped and makes her float.
She was rescued during a “cold stunning” event. This happens when cold snaps hit Texas. Turtles become hypothermic and can’t move. The aquarium reached out to marine rescue organizations. They offered her a new home.
Inside Sea Life Aquarium San Antonio, the green sea turtle enjoys foraging for food. Her diet includes lettuce, green peppers, and fish. Though she can’t live in the wild, she’s a star here.
