From twisted black PVC pipes, a curious form emerges. The Schwarze PVC-Skulptur stands before the concert hall of the Universität der Künste. It’s a strange yet compelling sight. The Schwarze PVC-Skulptur was created by Hans Nagel in 1983. Sadly, Nagel didn’t live to see its completion. The sculpture is a substantial piece, measuring approximately 5 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 3 meters high. It’s composed of black PVC pipes and rectangular blocks, arranged in three distinct groups and interconnected. Imagine walking among these towering, twisting forms. The bundled and winding pipes on one side form a gateway, inviting exploration. The pipes of the front group extend outward, reaching towards Hardenbergstraße.
