Opened in 1968, Schule Kroonhorst has been a part of Hamburg’s Osdorf district for over five decades. Located at Kroonhorst 25, the school sits at the western edge of the Osdorfer Born settlement. Originally a combined elementary, middle, and high school, Schule Kroonhorst transitioned to a dedicated elementary school in 2010 as part of Hamburg’s educational reforms. This shift wasn’t the end for Schule Kroonhorst. It marked a new beginning. Between 2012 and 2013, the school underwent renovations to become a full-day institution. This involved over 1,000 square meters of space and a cost of around 1.3 million Euros. As of 2019, the school included an administration building, a break building, a specialized subject building, eight classroom buildings, a sports hall, and a pavilion. Today, Schule Kroonhorst is a vibrant learning hub. It offers a multitude of care options, even during school holidays. The school boasts modern, networked classrooms equipped with media corners, iPads, and CTouch-boards. Beyond the technological advancements, Schule Kroonhorst enjoys a sprawling outdoor area. This green space offers a refreshing backdrop for learning and play, situated near the Osdorfer Feldmark. The school’s commitment to education extends beyond its walls. Schule Kroonhorst partners with organizations like brotZeit e.V. to provide students with a school breakfast.
