Dream big, young athletes. Here at the Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin your dreams can take flight.

The Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin, or SLZB, is more than just a school. It is a launchpad for future champions. Since its establishment, the SLZB has been dedicated to nurturing young talents. It masterfully balances rigorous athletic training with comprehensive academic education.

Standing before you, you are witnessing one of Germany’s 43 elite sports schools. The SLZB has earned the distinction of “Best Elite School of Sports” multiple times. It offers a unique dual career path.

Until 2014, the Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin operated from two locations. These were the Sportforum and Europasportpark. Today, the SLZB has consolidated into a single, unified campus at the Sportforum. This fusion came about through the merging of the Werner-Seelenbinder-Schule and Coubertin-Gymnasium.

The Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin’s concept caters to student-athletes. It ensures they achieve their full potential. The SLZB provides tailored support. This includes individual and group tutoring. E-learning and holiday classes are also offered. Small class sizes are implemented. Core subjects receive extra attention.

Flexibility defines the SLZB approach. The school schedule is carefully designed. It harmonizes academic classes and sports training. Full-day supervision ensures that students receive guidance. This helps them thrive both academically and athletically.

To gain admission, prospective students need certain qualifications. Recommendations from the Landessportbund are essential. Academic records and sports medical assessments are also considered.

The Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin offers a wide range of sports. From the 5th grade onwards, students can focus on sports like figure skating, swimming, and gymnastics. Starting in the 7th grade, the program expands. Badminton, basketball, archery, and speed skating become available. Fencing, weightlifting, judo, track and field, and volleyball are also options. Individual training in other Olympic sports can be arranged.

However, continued enrollment depends on athletic performance. Athletes must demonstrate commitment. If an athlete’s sports career ends, their special support ceases. They may need to leave the SLZB after certain grades.

Many successful athletes have walked these halls. Robert Harting, a discus Olympic champion, attended the Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin. Amy König, a U20 national soccer player, also studied here.

The SLZB operates as a full-time school. The goal is to reduce conflicts between school and training.

Remember the name Schul- und Leistungssportzentrum Berlin. It is where dedication meets opportunity. It is where champions are made.
