Rows of books line the shelves. This is the School of Science Library. It serves the School of Sciences and the Department of Pharmacy. Both are part of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
The library’s collection is vast. It holds materials in Greek English German and French. Slavic languages are also represented. The focus is on Biology Earth Sciences Geology Mathematics Informatics Telecommunications Physics Astronomy Chemistry and Pharmacology. Materials related to Pharmacy are also found in the Health Sciences Library.
Did you know there are actually two parts to this library? There is the main School of Science Library. There’s also a smaller library for the Department of History and Philosophy of Science. It’s temporarily housed in a different building. The entire collection will eventually be moved to the main library.
The School of Science Library is in Zografou on the University Campus. It’s open Monday to Friday from 830 am to 6 pm. The secretariat and interlibrary office close earlier at 3 pm. Holiday hours vary. You can contact them by phone or email.
