Emerging from the vibrant tapestry of Rockaway Park, Scholars’ Academy stands as a beacon of academic excellence. A modern marvel, Scholars’ Academy opened its doors in 2005. This wasn’t just another school. It was designed as a haven for gifted and talented students. Scholars’ Academy offers a unique blend of middle and high school education, spanning grades 6 through 12. The school’s uniform, a combination of navy blue, light blue, and khaki pants, sets its students apart, visually representing the unity and purpose they share. Their motto, “Technology today, Smarter tomorrow,” reflects the school’s commitment to preparing students for the challenges and opportunities of the 21st century. Scholars’ Academy prides itself on its diversity. Over half of its student body hails from the Rockaway Peninsula, creating a rich tapestry of backgrounds and perspectives. This diverse environment fosters empathy and understanding, crucial skills for success in an increasingly interconnected world. The school’s commitment to these values is evident in its “Empathy, Equity, and Excellence” pillars. These pillars underpin the school’s holistic approach to education, nurturing not just academic brilliance, but also character and social responsibility. Scholars’ Academy boasts near-perfect graduation rates. Students and staff rallied together, relocating temporarily while repairs were underway. The school’s eventual return to its restored building symbolized the community’s strength and determination. Today, Scholars’ Academy continues to thrive.
