Ever wondered where sporting legends are made and musical icons electrify thousands? Right here, rising before us, is the SAP Arena. Inaugurated in 2005, this multi-purpose arena in Mannheim is more than just a building. It is a cauldron of excitement. The SAP Arena is home to the Adler Mannheim ice hockey club and the Rhein-Neckar Löwen handball club. But the SAP Arena also welcomes stars from all over the world.

Imagine the roar of the crowd. Picture the Adler Mannheim battling it out on the ice. Feel the energy as the Rhein-Neckar Löwen dominate the handball court. The SAP Arena can hold 13,600 for ice hockey and 14,500 for handball. No matter the sport, every seat offers a fantastic view.

But the SAP Arena is not just about sports. It is a stage for world-class entertainment. Over a hundred concerts and conventions take place here every year. Tina Turner rocked the arena during her 50th Anniversary Tour. Depeche Mode has graced the stage four times. Madonna even played a sold-out show here. Justin Timberlake also performed to a full house.

Did you know that the SAP Arena is one of the most high-tech arenas in Europe? In 2018, it became the first multi-purpose arena in Germany to offer location-based services. Thanks to 630 iBeacons, visitors can use indoor navigation and proximity marketing. Getting lost inside is a thing of the past.

The construction of the SAP Arena cost €70 million. Dietmar Hopp is the owner. Hentrich – Petschnigg & Partner KG were the architects. A tram line connects the SAP Arena to Mannheim city center. A road connects it to the A656 Autobahn. Getting here is easy, no matter where you are coming from.

In late December 2022, something special happened here. The MLP Academics Heidelberg played basketball against FC Bayern Munich. A record crowd of 10,454 people attended. For every ticket sold, a donation went to the Courage Foundation. This foundation supports chronically ill children.

So, the next time you are in Mannheim, make sure to visit the SAP Arena. Whether you are a sports fan or a music lover, there is always something exciting happening here. It is more than just an arena. It is a place where memories are made. It is a landmark. The SAP Arena stands as a beacon of entertainment in Mannheim.
