Mageba Group contributed to this mega project. They installed 41 meter long TENSA-MODULAR expansion joints of type LR24. Each joint features 24 individual gaps. These facilitate movements of up to 1920 mm. These expansion joints are designed to ensure high traffic safety. The entire steel surface is treated with an anti-skid surfacing.
One side of the expansion joints connects to the steel box girder. The other connects to the concrete approach bridge. The products installed on the Nansha Bridge feature a two-way moveable design. This helps accommodate the bridge’s movements and rotations better. This ensures the durability and reliability of the expansion joints.
