Can you imagine a high school with a nationally ranked soccer team? Here at San Pasqual High School, that’s a reality. Nestled in Escondido, California, San Pasqual High School opened its doors in 1972. The school is named after the nearby San Pasqual Valley, a place rich in history. San Pasqual High School isn’t just about academics though. It’s a vibrant hub of student life. The school’s motto, “United…We are San Pasqual!”, reflects the strong sense of community here. The Golden Eagles, the school’s mascot, embody the school spirit and pride. San Pasqual offers a wide range of athletic programs. In 2012, the boys’ varsity soccer team achieved national recognition. They ranked 3rd in the United States and 1st in California, according to MaxPreps.com. Their impressive 20-2-1 record solidified their place in San Pasqual’s athletic history. The accolades don’t stop with soccer. The girls’ varsity wrestling team became San Diego Section CIF Champions in 2018. In 2019, the boy’s varsity basketball team clinched the CIF Division 5 championship under the leadership of coach and alum, Erik Meek. More recently, in 2022, both the boys’ and girls’ soccer teams secured CIF championships in their respective divisions. And in 2023, the boys’ soccer team took home the Division 2 State Championship title. San Pasqual High School also boasts a roster of notable alumni who have made their mark in various fields. This includes individuals like Tom Anderson, the creator of Myspace, and professional athletes like Jovan Kirovski, Shannon MacMillan, and Nikki Serlenga.
