San Antonio Lutheran High School

Imagine stepping onto a campus where the past and the present converge in harmony. This is San Antonio Lutheran High School, a private, college preparatory Christian high school in San Antonio, Texas. It’s the city’s only Lutheran high school, supported by six LCMS congregations. The San Antonio Lutheran High School was first envisioned in 1993 by Lutheran church leaders, and it was established two years later. The school was initially located on the former Concordia Lutheran Church campus on Basse Road. In 1998, when Concordia relocated, the church sold the property to San Antonio Lutheran High School. The school remained there until 2004. In 2001, the school board developed a five-year strategic plan, which included a move to a new permanent location by 2006. In 2004, the San Antonio Lutheran High School moved to the Methodist Mission Home on Whitby Road. It operated out of temporary modular structures for two school years. In 2005, the school launched the ‘Upon this Rock’ capital campaign and raised nearly $1 million. This allowed them to acquire the current 54-acre property at 18104 Babcock Road on the city’s northwest side. The San Antonio Lutheran High School has a strong commitment to nurturing faith and discipleship. It also promotes academic excellence to cultivate Christian servant leaders. It offers an environment where students can find identity, meaning, and purpose for their life in Christ. San Antonio Lutheran High School has earned national accreditation and is recognized by the Commissioner of Education of the Texas Education Agency. Today, it boasts state-of-the-art facilities, including a gymnasium, athletic amenities, and multiple athletic fields.
