Beneath our feet lies a vibrant tapestry. It is the story of Samseong 1-dong in Seoul. This neighborhood is a dynamic blend of affluence and tradition. Samseong 1-dong is a key part of the Gangnam District. This district is famous for its upscale atmosphere.

Here in Samseong 1-dong, you will find a captivating story. It starts with its historical roots. In 1914, this area was part of Gyeonggi-do. It was known as Samseong-ri. This was within Eonju-myeon, Gwangju-gun.

Fast forward to 1963. Samseong-ri became part of Seoul. It was merged into Sudo-dong. This was under the Eonju Branch Office. The area continued to evolve. In 1970, Sudo-dong was renamed Cheongdam-dong. Then in 1977, Samseong-dong was divided from Cheongdam-dong. Finally, in 1985, Samseong-dong split into Samseong-1-dong and Samseong-2-dong.

Samseong 1-dong boasts notable educational institutions. Among them are Seoul Bongeun Elementary School. You can also find Bongeun Middle School here. Gyeonggi High School is another prestigious school. It enhances the area’s reputation.

Samseong-dong is known for its affluence. It shares this trait with Cheongdam-dong and Apgujeong-dong. Upscale shopping malls dot the landscape. Popular restaurants thrive here. Interestingly, the name Samseong-dong is a coincidence. It has nothing to do with the Samsung Group. This is a common misconception.

Transportation is convenient in Samseong-dong. The Seoul Subway Line 2 runs through here. Seoul Subway Line 9 has Bongeunsa Station and Seonjeongneung Station. The Bundang Line also serves Seonjeongneung Station and Samsung Joongang Station. The Yeongdong Highway provides easy access by car.
