Back in March 2023, the Salón de Asambleas de los Testigos de Jehová was the site of a first-of-its-kind assembly. The regular Spanish circuit assembly program was simultaneously interpreted into Guambiano and Emberá (Chamí) – two indigenous languages of Colombia. This was a momentous occasion, especially for the Guambiano and Emberá (Chamí) communities, who previously had to attend assemblies in Spanish, a language many didn’t fully understand. Imagine the joy and understanding that filled the hall as over 1,600 attendees, including 48 Guambiano and 78 Emberá (Chamí) speakers, were able to hear the program in their native tongues.
