Built in 1955 Saint Pius X Catholic Church stands proudly. It first held mass in a rented house. The church building was completed the same year. The rectory and parish hall followed two years later. This isn’t just any church. It’s a testament to faith and community. Its Spanish Mission style architecture reflects Southern California’s unique charm. Percy Burnham a prominent architect designed Saint Pius X. It was his final masterpiece before his death.

Saint Pius X wasn’t static. It underwent significant remodeling. The changes weren’t always planned perfectly. In 2007 Lord Architecture Inc. a San Diego firm modernized the church. They also upgraded the school and parish hall. Today Saint Pius X thrives. It serves a vibrant community. It’s a center for spiritual growth and fellowship.

The church boasts a rich tapestry of activities. It sponsors a Knights of Columbus chapter. There’s also an Altar Society and a Rosary Society. A Consolation Committee offers support during difficult times. Originally staffed by the Sisters of St Clare Saint Pius X School is now run by laypeople. The parish hall hosts weddings retreats and banquets. The church offers five Sunday masses in English. One is in Spanish. There is a daily weekday mass. Even daily Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament takes place in the St Jude Chapel.
