Dwindling enrollment and a ballooning budget deficit of $1.5 million led the Archdiocese of Newark to announce its closure. The school community was stunned. Students, faculty, and residents rallied around their beloved Saint Mary of the Assumption High School. They launched a GoFundMe campaign with a seemingly impossible goal: raise $2 million in a month. Their hope was to not only erase the debt but also to demonstrate a viable path toward future financial stability.
