He was imprisoned first in Loos then in Saint-Gilles prison in Brussels. This was under the military command of the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region. The region was linked to occupied Belgium.

He was condemned under the N & N procedure. He was deported by convoy I.178. He was imprisoned successively in Essen a commando dependent on the Buchenwald concentration camp. He was also held in Esterwegen Gross Strehlitz and Gross Rosen concentration camps. He died in Gross Rosen on January 30 1945. Paul Kimpe’s sacrifice is remembered.
