In 1991 Reverend Sam Korankye Ankrah heard a call in Holland. He was far from home seeking better prospects. God commanded him to return to Ghana. To start a ministry. He initially ignored this divine instruction. He disobeyed. But at 2 am a supernatural presence filled his room. He prayed for three hours. He finally accepted God’s command.
This ministry began humbly. It started in March 1991. Twelve adults and five children gathered at the GES Model Nursery School. It was called Abundant Life Missions International. Then Bible Worship Centre. Then International Bible Worship Centre. Finally. In March 1999. It became Royal House Chapel International. A name that reflects its global reach.
The congregation grew rapidly. From a small group to tens of thousands. The early services were held in various locations. First the GES Model Nursery School. Then the Agricultural Development Bank canteen. Later the Blackmoore and Sons warehouse. Each move marked a significant step in the chapel’s growth.
A pivotal moment arrived on November 4 2000. Thousands of worshippers participated in an all-night prayer vigil. They then marched to Ahenfie. Their new home. It was a symbolic crossing over. From Egypt to the Promised Land. Ahenfie. A place of prophecy and promise for Royal House Chapel members.
Today Royal House Chapel stands as a testament to faith and perseverance. It began with a single midnight knock. It now serves as a place of spiritual nourishment. A beacon of hope for tens of thousands. It continues to touch lives. Bringing people closer to God. It’s a remarkable story. A story of faith. A story of growth.
