“Where community blooms.” That’s the motto for Rotary Park. This park offers a blend of nature and recreation. We are standing at Rotary Park. It is a testament to community collaboration and natural beauty.

Rotary Park’s story began with land assembled from diverse sources. A majority of the land came from a consent judgement. This allowed the Chase Farms subdivision construction. 54 acres were donated to the City. A small portion was a wastewater storage facility. Oakland County managed it. When removed, it was given to the City. Another portion near Nine Mile Road was donated.

The City later purchased five acres from the Auduboun Society of Detroit. This land was on Nine Mile Road. In 2008, the city acquired two more acres. This was between Rotary Park and Chase Farms. It was part of a land exchange. This exchange involved a property owner on Twelve Mile Road.

Initial park development was funded by a grant. This grant came from the State of Michigan. The Novi Rotary Club matched this with donations. This shows the power of local partnerships. It creates valuable community spaces.

The park spans 67 acres. It has woodlands and wetlands. The Middle Rouge River flows through it. Nature trails wind throughout the park. They offer visitors immersive experiences.

Rotary Park has become a popular destination. Community members reserve picnic facilities here. They hold family reunions and birthday parties. The park is also known for its tennis.

This park offers a place for recreation and relaxation. It is a testament to what a community can accomplish. It demonstrates what they can do when working together. They preserve natural spaces. Rotary Park continues to evolve. It enriches the lives of Novi residents.
