Rosengarten was formed in 1972. It was a combination of eleven villages. These were Eckel, Ehestorf, Emsen, Iddensen, Klecken, Leversen, Nenndorf, Sottorf, Tötensen, Alvesen and Vahrendorf. The municipality was named after a nearby forest. The forest shares the name Rosengarten.

Rosengarten has a population of over 13,000. It is located in the district of Harburg in Lower Saxony. Rosengarten isn’t just known for its pretty name. Since 1990, it hosts the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Guinea to Hamburg.

The village of Tötensen is part of Rosengarten. Tötensen is famous for another reason. It’s the home of Dieter Bohlen. He is a well-known German musician and television personality.
