The Roosevelt Rough Riders are more than just a mascot. They represent the school’s spirit. They compete in a range of sports. These sports include baseball basketball cross country football golf soccer softball swimming and diving tennis track and field volleyball and wrestling. The Rough Riders even have a state football championship under their belts a 1995 win in the 5A Division II.

Alumni include Scott Coolbaugh a former MLB player and current hitting coach for the Baltimore Orioles. Erik Flowers a former NFL player who was a first-round draft pick for the Buffalo Bills. And then there is Admiral William H McRaven a retired admiral now Chancellor of the University of Texas System. Jeff Smisek former President and CEO of United Airlines also calls Roosevelt High School his alma mater. This impressive roster of alumni showcases the school’s enduring legacy.
