Romy was actually moved from Saint-Pierre-le-Moutier to Lille. The journey involved a flatbed truck and a crane. It was quite a logistical undertaking.

The artist envisioned Romy as the perfect embodiment of a traveler. Her gaze is directed towards the station. She welcomes visitors from all over the world. This aligns with Lille’s long-standing tradition of hospitality. Romy’s arrival in Lille was a major event. The unveiling ceremony took place on September 14 2019. It was part of the Lille Ville d’art et d’artistes program.
