Riverlife Baptist Church

In the heart of Seventeen Mile Rocks, a suburb of Brisbane, stands the Riverlife Baptist Church. It’s not just a building. It’s a testament to the enduring power of faith and community. Don’t let its modern facade fool you. The Riverlife Baptist Church has a rich history, stretching back to 1966. It all began with a vision. A small group of families, originally part of the Moore Park Baptist Church, felt a calling to plant a new church in the Kenmore area. Driven by faith, six families took the plunge. They started small, holding meetings in homes around Kenmore. The fledgling community, then known as Kenmore Baptist Church, found a temporary home in Brookfield Hall. Their numbers grew steadily. In 1973, they achieved a significant milestone purchasing a 2.5-acre piece of land in Kenmore. This land became the site of their first permanent structure, affectionately dubbed the Upstairs Hall. The 1980s witnessed a bold move. Despite their relatively small size, the congregation decided to expand their Kenmore facility. This leap of faith paid off. The church flourished, evolving into a significant presence in Brisbane’s western suburbs. The name “Riverlife Baptist Church” was adopted in 2017. This change coincided with a relocation to a new 5.2-hectare property in Seventeen Mile Rocks, acquired in 2005. The church we see today opened its doors on Jennifer Street in July 2017. Riverlife Baptist Church is more than just bricks and mortar. It’s a vibrant hub for people of all ages and backgrounds. Their journey, from humble beginnings to their current standing, exemplifies the power of faith, community, and a commitment to serving others.
