Birthed in the heart of San Antonio River of Life Christian Ministry Cathedral stands as a testament to faith. Its story began not with grand structures but a prophetic whisper. In 1997 Bishop Michael J Springs received divine inspiration. The name River of Life Christian Ministry was born.
For years Bishop Springs and Pastor Evangelist L Mary Springs served tirelessly. They spread God’s word across the nation and overseas. In March 2002 they officially founded River of Life Christian Ministry in Texas. They received a powerful message from the Lord. Their “due season” would begin in September 2004.
They acted on faith. Within days they found a place to begin their ministry. On September 5th 2004 pastors and friends celebrated their installation. The River of Life officially opened in an “Upper Room” at the Clarion Suites Hotel. Just six people attended that first service. Bishop Springs’ sermon was “Breathe on Me”.
The ministry grew. They moved to the Comfort Suites Hotel in 2005. In 2007 they secured a building at 2411 NE Loop 410. After renovations their first service was held in August 2007. The building was dedicated in September 2007. The River of Life continued to flourish. In 2018 they moved to a new location at 5624 Randolph Blvd.
Bishop Springs’ dedication led to his elevation to Bishop in 2022. River of Life Christian Ministry continues its mission. It spreads God’s love and serves the San Antonio community. It is a living testament to faith perseverance and the power of prayer. The River flows on.
