Ready to be amazed? Right here stands the Riethsporthalle. This isn’t just any sports hall. It’s a modern hub of activity in Erfurt’s north.
Completed in October 2011, the Riethsporthalle is part of the Sports Center North. It’s conveniently located near streetcar lines 1 and 6 at the Rieth stop. Other sports facilities are nearby. You will find a cycling track and the sports fields Am Nordpark and Essener Straße.
Step inside and you will see more than 2,000 square meters of sports space. The main playing field measures 45 by 31 meters. That is a sports area of 1395 square meters. Spectators can fill the hall. There is space for up to 1,500 people with about 250 optional seats.
Beyond the main area, the Riethsporthalle offers even more. There are three secondary sports rooms. Gymnastics, ballet, athletics, and strength training all happen here. A billiard room of about 120 square meters also invites athletes.
But wait, there is more. Head to the basement for a surprise. Here, you will discover a four-lane bowling alley suitable for the German national league. This is classic bowling at its finest. A fully graphics-capable scoreboard keeps track of every pin. It measures 3.20 by 1.92 meters.
Parking is easy. There are about 150 free parking spaces available.
The Riethsporthalle is praised for its bright and clean environment. The well-maintained facilities offer a clear view of the playing field. This is possible from stands on two sides. The multiple entrances and exits add convenience.
Imagine the hall filled with the energy of the German Tchoukball Championships. Picture basketball games with cheering fans. Skylights in the roof flood the space with natural light. The Riethsporthalle combines functionality with a pleasant atmosphere.
But it is not just about sports. The Riethsporthalle is designed with everyone in mind. It offers disabled toilets and a nappy changing area. This makes it family and child-friendly. Bicycle stands promote green mobility.
The Riethsporthalle is more than just a building. It’s a place where sports, community, and accessibility come together. It reflects Erfurt’s commitment to modern, inclusive spaces. As you leave, remember the energy and possibilities within these walls. The Riethsporthalle is ready for the next game.
