Founded in 1863 as the First Presbyterian Church of East Williamsburgh the Ridgewood Presbyterian Church has a rich history. It wasn’t always in its current location at 59-14 70th Avenue. The church initially served a German-speaking community. Its name and location changed in 1962. It became the First Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood. A significant milestone occurred in 1993. The Ridgewood Presbyterian Church and the St. James United Presbyterian Church merged. This merger created the United Presbyterian Church of Ridgewood.
