Opened in 1977 as Huma-Park, the Rheinpark-Center has a rich history. It’s not just a shopping center. It is a landmark that has evolved alongside the city of Neuss. The original Huma-Park, short for Hurler-Magazin Einkaufsmarkt GmbH, had a modest beginning with around 30 shops. Imagine strolling through its aisles in the 1970s, discovering a mix of local businesses and larger retailers. Fast forward to 2008. The ECE-Gruppe took ownership, breathing new life into the aging Huma-Park. The Rheinpark-Center was born. The transformation was remarkable. The ECE-Gruppe cleverly incorporated much of the old structure into the modern design. The past seamlessly merged with the present, creating this unique shopping experience you see today. The grand reopening of the Rheinpark-Center took place in two stages. The first section opened its doors on February 18, 2010. Excitement filled the air as shoppers explored the new space. The second phase followed shortly after, on April 1, 2011, completing the stunning transformation. Now, the Rheinpark-Center boasts over 140 shops spread across three levels. With 37,300 square meters of retail space, it’s a shopper’s paradise. Big names like Peek & Cloppenburg, Saturn, C&A, and formerly Real, anchor the center. Over 600,000 people consider the Rheinpark-Center their go-to shopping destination. It’s a hub of activity. An average of 12,511 visitors pass through its doors daily, totaling around 4 million annually. Due to its location slightly outside the city center, the Rheinpark-Center experiences peak traffic on Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays. The Rheinpark-Center’s convenient location adds to its appeal. Situated near the A57 autobahn and B1 highway, it’s easily accessible by car. For those using public transport, the nearby Neuss Rheinparkcenter S-Bahn station provides connections to the S8, S11, and S28 lines. Tram line 709 and several bus routes also stop close by. The Rheinpark-Center stands as a testament to Neuss’s growth and development. It’s not just a place to shop. It’s a vibrant part of the community, a blend of history and modernity.
