The Relogio do Sol is a vestige of Portugal’s architectural past, a charming blend of styles from different eras. Nestled into the facade of a grand, albeit slightly worse for wear, mansion, it stands as a reminder of bygone days. The house, commissioned in the early 20th century by an affluent couple, Arthur Jorge Guimarãaes and his wife Beatriz, was their seaside escape. Designed by the renowned architect José Teixeira Lopes, it was a celebration of Portuguese national identity through architecture.
