A haven of tranquility awaits you. Welcome to the Redcliffe Botanical Gardens a peaceful escape in the heart of Redcliffe. Established in 1995 this haven was once the Wallum Project. The Redcliffe Education Centre and the Redcliffe Australian Plants Club transformed this idle land into a vibrant reserve. The council completed most of the construction. They added fencing paths and shelters. This was partly thanks to the State Government’s Community Jobs Scheme.
Today the Redcliffe Botanical Gardens offer a unique experience. You can explore a remarkable collection of over 500 herb species. These herbs are used in cooking medicine and industry. Guided tours are available. Want to see something extraordinary? Visit the rainforest section. It’s home to over 250 native Moreton Bay rainforest species and over 1000 bats. This is one of the noisier but certainly most lively spots.
For a tranquil experience explore the natural pond system. It’s a cool calming oasis where you might even spot tree frogs. The native garden tended by the Society for Growing Australian Plants is a feast for the senses. The gardens even host weddings in their beautiful amphitheatre. Imagine celebrating your special day surrounded by such natural beauty.
The Redcliffe Botanical Gardens provide something for everyone. Whether you want a quiet picnic a lively celebration or simply a peaceful moment in nature this is the ideal place. So take some time to wander explore and enjoy this wonderful green haven. It’s a perfect place to escape the everyday hustle and bustle. The Redcliffe Botanical Gardens are waiting for you.
