How many schools can say they got a brand new building right next door to their old one? Red Bluff Elementary in Pasadena, Texas can! This school has seen a lot of changes since it first opened its doors in 1954. Back then it was just a 26-room building built to accommodate the families flocking to Pasadena after World War II. Red Bluff Elementary quickly became a vital part of the community. It was even used for district meetings and professional development. The school saw its first expansion in 1957 with portable buildings brought in to handle the student influx. It wasn’t until Pomeroy Elementary opened in 1958 that Red Bluff got some breathing room. Over the years, Red Bluff Elementary continued to grow and adapt. A new wing in 1992 brought a library and kindergarten classrooms. Another expansion in 2001 added even more classrooms and an office remodel. Then in 2020, Red Bluff experienced something truly special: a brand new, $24 million building was constructed right next door! This new facility wasn’t just about more space, it was about creating a state-of-the-art learning environment for the students. Red Bluff Elementary’s journey from those early portable buildings to its brand new campus is a testament to its commitment to education and the Pasadena community.
