Ever wonder what happens to old documents? The Nevada State Records Center is a centralized facility. It serves all State of Nevada Executive Branch agencies. They store and manage official records. These records must meet specific criteria.

The Records Center is responsible for storing agency records. These records are inactive. Their retention period has started. The agency keeps legal ownership and control of the records. The Records Center only has physical custody. This ensures agencies maintain authority over their records. They benefit from centralized storage and management.

The center optimizes records management processes. It enhances accessibility. It maintains physical custody of records. This lasts until they transfer to the Nevada State Archives. Records can also face authorized destruction. This contributes to efficient and secure records governance. All state agencies benefit.

The Las Vegas Justice Court also handles records. You can email record requests. The email is recordsc@clarkcountynv.gov. You can also request a record search by mail.

Send your record request to the Las Vegas Justice Court. Address it to the Civil Records Office. The address is P. O. Box 552511, Las Vegas, NV 89155-2511. Include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. This allows them to return the request by mail.

The Las Vegas Justice Court accepts several payment methods. You can pay with cash. This is only at the Las Vegas Justice Court Clerk’s Office. They also accept MasterCard and Visa. This is only at the Clerk’s Office too. You can pay by check or money order. Send it by mail. You can also pay in person at the Clerk’s Office. Make checks and money orders payable to the “Las Vegas Justice Court.” Do not send cash through the mail.

The records requests are not processed until payment arrives. Most records requests complete within 10 business days. Next time you are in Las Vegas, remember the Records Center. It keeps our history safe. It ensures government records are well-managed.
