Swami Vivekananda’s message of peace echoed in my ears as I approached the Ramakrishna Mission in Kuala Lumpur. This place, a beacon of spirituality and service, has stood for over 25 years. The Ramakrishna Mission in Malaysia commemorated this milestone, celebrating alongside Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. The mission emphasized his vision of education, social service, self-reliance, and spiritual growth. A series of 25 events were planned. One such event, “Arise, Awake,” was held at the Penang Institute. Over 150 people attended, including children and local media. The Indian High Commissioner praised the Ramakrishna Mission Malaysia for its dedication. He lauded their commitment to humanity’s spiritual and social well-being. Swami Vivekananda’s journey to Malaysia in 1893 laid the groundwork for this mission. A decade ago, a 12-foot bronze statue of him was unveiled here. It serves as a reminder of his enduring legacy. The Ramakrishna Mission in Malaysia continues his work. It promotes universal brotherhood and character building. The mission offers its services to people of all backgrounds, fostering a sense of unity and understanding.
