Is this some kind of modern art? The Quang Ninh Exhibition Center looms ahead of us, its white surface gleaming in the sunlight. It’s hard to believe that this futuristic structure, with its curves and angles, is actually a building designed to house exhibitions. The Quang Ninh Exhibition Center opened in 2018, a symbol of the province’s growth and ambition. And what a symbol it is! The design of the building itself is a nod to the region’s natural beauty. One building resembles a pearl-making mollusk, a tribute to Halong Bay’s famous pearls. The second building, housing exhibitions of local projects and architecture, takes the form of a dolphin, another creature found in the waters of this magical bay. As we approach, you’ll notice 30 “Emerald” lights illuminating the building at night. These lights, a customized white, were chosen to complement the building’s sleek design without interfering with the natural landscape. They cast a gentle glow on the structure, highlighting its unique shape against the darkening sky. The Quang Ninh Exhibition Center is more than just a building.
