In 1975, a small group of families from the Westbury Church of Christ found themselves yearning for a place to call their own. This desire led them to Quail Valley Community Church, a burgeoning congregation housed in the local elementary school. The initial attendance was modest, about 50 people, yet the seeds of something remarkable were sown. As the church grew, so did the need for a more permanent home. They found it in a charming, former real estate office and art gallery known as “The Barn.” With its large boat storage facility, the church was able to purchase the 14-acre property for $350,000. The boat storage facility helped to pay off the land. Within five years, elders were appointed, and the church continued to flourish. Quail Valley Community Church, with its eclectic mix of contemporary Christian music and a blend of traditional Church of Christ practices, became a beacon of faith in the community.

Some of the church’s early years were marked by a change in leadership and a shift in its worship style. Pastor Jim Bevis, the first pastor called to the church, introduced a more charismatic approach to worship. The congregation’s growth during this time led to an expansion of “The Barn.” The church continued on its path of growth and transformation, with a focus on outreach, community service, and building deeper relationships among its members. Throughout the years, Quail Valley Community Church has remained a vital part of the community, offering spiritual guidance, a sense of belonging, and a sanctuary where people can come together to celebrate their faith.
