Qinjia

“One year to become a town, two to become a city, and three to become a metropolis.” This ancient proverb, quoted in the 10th-century geographical work “Universal Geography of the Taiping Era,” is often linked to Qinjia Town’s very name, Chengdu. While scholars debate the true etymology, the sentiment rings true. Qinjia, nestled within the greater Chengdu municipality, has witnessed centuries of growth and transformation, mirroring the larger story of Chengdu itself. Qinjia, a place whose roots stretch back over four millennia, shares a history with the Sanxingdui culture. Their bronze and gold artifacts, unearthed in modern times, offer a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage that underpins Qinjia’s identity. Yet, Qinjia, within the resilient city of Chengdu, persevered. Qinjia today reflects Chengdu’s modern dynamism.
