Qingshi is located in the heart of Chengdu City. This district isn’t just a location. It is the place where Chengdu’s 2300-year history began. It has been Chengdu’s political center since ancient times. It has also been its economic and cultural center. Qingshi is named after the famous Qingyang Taoist Temple. The district covers an area of 66 square kilometers. It includes 12 subdistricts and 67 communities. Around 1.24 million people live here.

Qingshi District has a comprehensive industrial system. This system is supported by aviation, finance, culture and tourism, and commerce. Its economic output per unit area is among the highest in Chengdu. In 2022, it achieved a regional GDP of RMB149.64 billion. That’s a GDP per square kilometer of RMB2.267 billion. It covers only 0.46 percent of Chengdu’s land area. Yet it contributed about 7.2 percent to its regional GDP.
Qingshi has been inscribed on the list of “China’s Top 100 Districts with High-Quality Development”. It received the “China’s Leading Districts in Building Economy Development Award”. It was recognized as a top district for international business environment. It is a district with the highest investment value in building economy in China. Qingshi gained distinction as one of the first batch of “Famous Counties of Sichuan Tourism”. It is a “Sichuan Provincial All-for-One Tourism Demonstration Area”. The Narrow and Wide Alley was named one of the first batch of “National Demonstration Pedestrian Streets”.
