How would you like to step back in time to experience the ancient charm of the Qing Dynasty? Today, we’re at Qinghui Garden. This is no ordinary garden. Qinghui Garden is one of the ten best gardens in China. It is also one of the four most famous gardens in Guangdong.
Qinghui Garden sits in Shunde District in Foshan. It exemplifies the Lingnan style. This style reflects traditional southern China. The garden integrates Ming and Qing dynasties culture. It also reflects the Lingnan ancient gardening style. The Zhujiang Delta Region Watertown scenery blends in too. Inside Qinghui Garden, discover clear water and flourishing woods. Originally, Qinghui Garden was Huang Shijun’s mansion. He was the Number One Scholar during the Ming Dynasty. Later, Long Yingshi, a famous scholar, bought it during the Qing Dynasty. The Long families finalized its style.
In 1880, Long Yanhuai built a garden for his mother on Huang Jun’s old residence. Long Yanhuai was a member of the Imperial Academy. He returned home after resigning. Later, Long’s descendants renovated and expanded the garden. During the Anti-Japanese War, the Long family sought refuge overseas. The garden became abandoned.
But Qinghui Garden was not forgotten. In 1966, the government renovated it. They expanded it from over 7000 square meters to 22000 square meters. It was opened to tourists.
Many plants thrive here because of the mild climate and rich rainfall. Over generations, the garden gathered colored glazes, woodcarvings, and porcelain. These crafts exhibit for visitors.
