What comes to your mind when you hear the name “Puente elevado la luna”? Violence? Protests? Today, as we stand before Puente elevado la luna, I want to paint a different picture for you. This bridge, a landmark in Cali, isn’t just a concrete structure. It’s a canvas, a testament to the spirit of this city. Back in November 2023, Puente elevado la luna saw a community-led initiative blossom. “Paz y Reconciliación, La Luna de la Esperanza” took root here, transforming this space into a beacon of hope. Imagine vibrant murals replacing graffiti, the aroma of a shared community meal filling the air, and the sounds of laughter replacing those of conflict. This project, fuelled by local artists and residents, showcases the power of art and unity. It’s a reminder that even in the face of adversity, the human spirit can prevail, bringing light and color to the most unexpected corners of our world. Puente elevado la luna stands as a symbol of this resilience, reminding us that change is possible, one brushstroke, one shared meal, one act of kindness at a time.
