How about a serene escape right here in Abu Dhabi? This is Umm Al Emarat Park. Once known as Mushrif Park, Umm Al Emarat Park is one of Abu Dhabi’s oldest and largest parks. It’s more than just a green space. It’s a community hub with a vision to create a family-friendly and environmentally sustainable spot.

Imagine it. The park honors the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s vision. He wanted to preserve the UAE’s cultural and natural history. The park strives to foster family connections and celebrate Abu Dhabi’s assets.

Umm Al Emarat Park spans 145,000 square meters. That is a lot of space. It features nine key attractions. These attractions cater to all age groups. It contributes to the health and well-being of its visitors.

In its first year, Umm Al Emarat Park welcomed over 700,000 visitors. People come for recreation, education, and cultural enrichment. The park has recreational areas, playgrounds, and fitness spaces. Green landscapes engage everyone.

“My Little Farm” offers children interactive experiences. Special celebrations are held here too. There are even water features. Animal lovers can visit the Animal Barn to feed and ride animals. Educational groups enjoy nature programs. They also participate in workshops and exhibitions. Umm Al Emarat Park hosts gatherings for community organizations and event planners.

Explore the Botanical Garden. Take a family-friendly train ride. Participate in community events. Relax in scenic spots like the Shade House. Students can gain knowledge and skills through educational packages. Activities range from AED 45 to AED 65 per student.

Al Ain Properties owns Umm Al Emarat Park. It was developed with a team of international designers. Semple Brown Design led the architectural design. BrightView Design Group handled the landscape architecture. Crystal Fountains managed the aquatic design. Water in Motion was a contractor. They integrated modern amenities with cultural heritage.

Originally, it opened in 1982 as Mushrif Park. It was exclusively for women and children. Major renovations took place from 2013 to 2015. The cost was $48.7 million. The park reopened on March 19, 2015, with modern upgrades.

In 2016, it was renamed Umm Al Emarat Park. It honors H.H. Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubaraki. It also received the Green Flag Award for sustainability. In 2022, the park launched the ‘GreenWall’ initiative. This aligns with the UAE’s sustainability vision.

Sustainability and heritage preservation are key. Over 200 mature trees were saved during the design. These trees are over 20 years old. Umm Al Emarat Park is located centrally on 15th Street. It sits between Karamah Street and Airport Road.

Umm Al Emarat Park is more than just a park. It’s a place where memories are made. It is where community thrives and nature is celebrated. Take a moment to appreciate this green heart of Abu Dhabi.
