During their exile, the Pandavas arrived here. One day, Kunti, the mother of the Pandavas, encountered a distraught woman. The woman explained she had only one child. That child would be Vakasur’s next meal. Kunti offered to send one of her five sons in place of the woman’s only child. That shows Kunti’s wisdom and compassion.
Inside Prithvinath Temple, Nandi, the sacred bull of Hindu mythology, faces Lord Shiva. The Shiva deity is very old. Its exact age remains a mystery. But the temple priest says it is about 6500 years old.
Devotees visit Prithvinath Temple from 4:00 AM to 9:00 PM. Traditional clothing is preferred. Photography is allowed. You can also receive Prasad, a blessed offering.
