In 2004 Queen Rania inaugurated Prince Hashem Park. She met with students painting walls. Volunteers performed a play about youth ambitions. Queen Rania also explored the play area. She visited a multipurpose hall for drawing and reading. The Queen spoke with students enjoying the park.
Prince Hashem Park first opened in 1979. It was established by the Greater Amman Municipality. This makes it Amman’s first thematic park. People also call it Prince Hashem Bird Park.

Cochin chickens boast fluffy legs. Polish roosters sport punk hairstyles. The helmeted guineafowls are a delight.
Ducks and geese swim in their spacious enclosure. A golden eagle longs to build a nest. A large cage houses rabbits of all sizes. Don’t miss the elegant gray herons.
Bringing your own food and drinks is allowed. There are benches to sit and savor your refreshments. A small stand sells juices, water, and snacks.
Prince Hashem Bird Park is open daily. The opening hours are 8:30 AM to 7:30 PM, except on Tuesdays. You can explore the entire park in about 20 to 30 minutes.
Please do not feed the birds or rabbits. They have specific diets. Feeding them could be harmful.
