Is this where the legends play? Pridgeon Stadium. Even the name sounds grand. This isn’t just any high school stadium. This is Cypress-Fairbanks. This is Texas football. Imagine the roar of the crowd, over 11,000 strong, echoing across the field. Pridgeon Stadium has seen its share of Friday night lights since it first opened back in 1977. This stadium has witnessed countless victories, heartbreaking defeats, and the rise of future sports stars. It’s a place where dreams are made and memories are etched in the very fabric of the stands. In 1994, they decided to honor a true local legend, renaming the stadium after Oran Kenneth “Ken” Pridgeon. He was the Cypress-Fairbanks ISD Athletic Director from 1967 to 1998. They even gave the stadium a major facelift in 2016. New press box, ticket booths, a state-of-the-art natatorium. They really went all out! But you know what hasn’t changed? The electric atmosphere. The spirit of competition. The heart and soul of Texas high school football. Pridgeon Stadium is more than just a field. It’s a testament to the power of community, the thrill of the game, and the enduring legacy of a true Texan icon.
