“The children’s laughter will echo even louder after our visit,” the tour guide chuckled, gesturing towards Prey Sa Primary School. Prey Sa Primary School stands as a testament to the resilience of the Cambodian spirit. The school, nestled in the heart of Dangkao, Phnom Penh, has always been a beacon of hope and learning for the local children. However, time had taken its toll on the school’s playground, leaving it rusty, outdated, and in dire need of repair. Recognizing the importance of play for a child’s well-being and development, the Dongtan Rotary Club, in partnership with MVL and Good Neighbors Cambodia, embarked on a heartwarming project. The “Playground Project – Play here of MVL” aimed to transform the dilapidated space into a vibrant and safe haven for the children of Prey Sa Primary School. The project, a testament to international collaboration and compassion, saw the old playground replaced with a modern, safe play area. New soccer, volleyball, and basketball courts were built, breathing life and joy back into the schoolyard. The project is more than just swings and slides; it’s a symbol of hope and a reminder that laughter and play are universal languages, understood and cherished by children everywhere.
