Established in the heart of Osu in 1956, Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu stands as a testament to community spirit. Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu wasn’t simply built. It emerged from a need, a desire to provide local children with a Presbyterian education. Many families couldn’t afford the boarding fees at other Presbyterian schools. This made Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu a beacon of hope. The school started humbly, in an old Basel Missionary building at the foot of Kuku Hill. Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu began as a collaborative effort. The church joined forces with dedicated educators. Together, they laid the foundation for a school that would shape generations. Cleland Armah became the first headmaster, leading the charge in this new educational venture. In 1963, Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu transitioned into the public system under Mr. McCarthy. He spearheaded renovations, transforming the old mission building into a proper school. It now housed two streams of classrooms, a library, administrative offices, and even science laboratories. The church generously offered the current location, known as the “New Site.” The school expanded further, with eighteen classrooms and a three-story science block. Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu continued to grow, thanks to contributions from the GETFund. New classroom blocks were added. This accommodated the increasing number of students eager to learn within its walls. Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu isn’t just about academics. It’s a place where students discover their passions. It’s a place where dreams take flight. In 2018, the school’s basketball team etched their name in history. They won the Sprite Ball Championship, defeating Mfantsipim School. Point guard Joel Kobayere became the tournament’s MVP. This victory, achieved in only their second appearance at the tournament, showcased the school’s dedication and talent. Presbyterian Senior High School, Osu has nurtured many notable alumni. Among them are Uncle Ebo Whyte, a renowned theatre arts producer. Nai Prince, also known as 9Cliche, a talented musician. Nii Kpakpo Curtis, a voice-over comedian, bringing laughter to countless people. Rudolf Ofori, a skilled mechanical engineer, and Dr. Edmund Nkrumah from NIBS, all began their journeys here.
