The Gilchrist brothers played a big role. They owned Gilchrist Department Store. They paid for half the church’s construction. Their contribution helped bring this vision to life.
The Roxbury Presbyterian Church joined the National Register of Historic Places in 1991. This honor recognizes its historical significance. It marks the church as a place of importance.
In May 2014, Liz Walker became the pastor. She was a former WBZ-TV anchor. She had served as a transitional leader since 2011. Her leadership brought new energy to the church. She retired in 2022.
