Then came a pivotal moment. June 25 1960 marked a new chapter. Fedala was renamed Mohammédia. This was in honor of King Mohammed V. He was a symbol of Moroccan independence.

Mohammédia is now a thriving city. It balances industry with seaside charm. The port is essential. It handles about 95% of Morocco’s hydrocarbon imports. This makes it the first oil hub of Morocco.

But it’s not all work and no play. Mohammédia boasts beaches that stretch over 10 km. Sablettes Monica and Yasmine are just a few. These beaches offer relaxation and recreation.
