“Fedala” whispers through the ages. That was the original name of Mohammédia. Now, we stand at the Prefecture of Mohammédia a place steeped in history.

The modern port began to take shape after 1913. French businessmen developed the facilities. The port expanded. It became a key player in Moroccan trade.

Then came a pivotal moment. June 25 1960 marked a new chapter. Fedala was renamed Mohammédia. This was in honor of King Mohammed V. He was a symbol of Moroccan independence.
