You see, Prawet wasn’t always its own entity. It was once a part of Phra Khanong, a district with a rich tapestry of stories. However, in 1989, Prawet stepped out from the shadows, becoming a district in its own right. It was a significant moment, marked by the establishment of the Prawet District Office, a symbol of the area’s newfound autonomy. Even then, Prawet’s story didn’t end there. In 1994, a part of Prawet, the Suan Luang Sub-district, was carved away to form the Suan Luang District. It was a change that reshaped the district’s boundaries, but not its spirit. Today, the Prawet District Office stands as a beacon of civic service, reflecting the district’s growth and evolution over the years.
