A million-dollar gift. That’s how Posner Hall began. Built in 1954 this impressive building stands at 200 Harrison Avenue. It’s a testament to the generosity of Harry and Hannah Posner. Their donation made this dormitory a reality.
Posner Hall isn’t just bricks and mortar. It’s a home for medical students graduate students and those in the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences. These students study hard. They often use Posner Hall as a quiet study space. The building provides a haven for focused learning. It’s located on Tufts University’s Health Sciences Campus. This convenient location means classes are just steps away. Its proximity to Tufts Medical Center is also incredibly beneficial.
Imagine the lives that have unfolded within these walls. Students from different programs and years share the hallways. The floors are co-ed fostering a collaborative environment. Each room is small about 11 x 13.5 feet. They’re single occupancy rooms though. Yet they offer privacy. Each includes a bed dresser desk chair bookshelf and even an air conditioner. Modern amenities such as high-speed Wi-Fi are also available. Shared kitchens and bathrooms have updated floors. There’s even a common lounge a study area and an exercise room. A laundry room completes the picture. It is truly a well-maintained facility.
The cost for the academic year from August 1 2025 to May 31 2026 is $12900.00. This covers a ten-month period. Payments are made in two installments. There are exceptions for medical students whose clinical rotations begin in April. They might receive a refund for April or May if they leave. Month-to-month leases are also available but only for matriculated students. Those options are handled by the Office of Student Affairs. Students must apply for rooms. Those who apply by April 15 2024 receive priority.
