Can you hear the happy barks echoing through the air? That’s the sound of Poinsettia Dog Park, Carlsbad’s newest canine paradise. Poinsettia Dog Park isn’t just any dog park. It’s a place where furry friends can truly let loose and enjoy the San Diego sunshine. The park officially opened its gates as part of the larger Poinsettia Community Park, a project driven by the community’s desire for a dedicated space for their four-legged companions. Poinsettia Dog Park boasts a sprawling 27,700 square feet of natural grass, a refreshing change from the typical gravel or bark. This grassy expanse is thoughtfully divided into two separate areas. A 20,000-square-foot section caters to the energetic bounds of larger dogs. A smaller, 7,700-square-foot enclosure ensures small dogs can play safely. Both areas are equipped with double-entry gates, a smart feature that prevents any daring escapes. Inside each fenced area, dogs will find a fun playground of agility equipment. They can test their skills on ramps, tunnels, and other obstacles. Poinsettia Dog Park understands the needs of both pets and their people. Conveniently located drinking fountains keep everyone hydrated. Bag dispensers encourage responsible cleanup. Picnic tables, both inside and outside the fenced areas, offer a place for owners to relax and socialize while their pups play. And just in case nature calls, a new restroom facility is located at the northwest corner of the parking lot. Poinsettia Dog Park is open daily from 8 a.m. to sunset. So come on down, let your dog enjoy the wide open space, and experience the joy of Poinsettia Dog Park.
