Plymouth High School

Built in 2002 Plymouth High School stands as a testament to modern education. It’s part of the Plymouth-Canton Educational Park a sprawling 305-acre campus. This impressive complex houses three high schools including Plymouth Canton and Salem. Plymouth High wasn’t always here. The original Plymouth High School a much older building stood in downtown Plymouth. It was deemed outdated by the 1960s. The school closed after the 1969-1970 school year. It became Central Middle School. That building closed in 2015. The current Plymouth High School opened in 2002. Students chose the school’s mascot. They picked the Predators after the Nashville Predators hockey team. Some parents objected. They felt the name was too close to “sexual predators”. So the school became the Wildcats. Their school colors were originally going to be purple and white. They changed to black and silver instead. Plymouth High School is known for its strong academics and extracurricular activities. The school’s band program is particularly renowned. It’s housed in the Plymouth building. Students from all three high schools participate in various programs at the park. The campus offers a wide array of resources. These resources include a state-of-the-art auto shop culinary arts facilities and more. There’s even a small wooded area with an artesian well. This area is used for educational purposes. Plymouth High School stands as a symbol of innovation. It represents collaboration and a commitment to excellence in education.
